About Jessica
|
I was born into a musical family and began studying the piano at age eight. By age 12, I knew I wanted to make music my career!
I earned my B.A. in Music and Piano Pedagogy from Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond, Oklahoma. In 2001 I received the StAR Award (Student Achievement Recognition Award) from MTNA (the Music Teacher's National Association) for outstanding graduating music students. My students' original compositions have been recognized in Piano Explorer magazine and the MTNA Northwest Division Competitions. I began my private piano studio while I was still at university in 1999, and I think I have the best job in the world! I love meeting each student where they are, fostering their creativity, and inspiring them to become young artists who use their musical achievements in a variety of creative ways. In addition to teaching and performing, I currently serve on the board of the Montana State Music Teachers Association and as editor of the Montana Music News. I love spending my free time making music and hanging out with my amazing family! |
